Since 1974, CBN Building Maintenance has enjoyed a strong reputation for honesty and integrity in our dealings with both our clients and our workforce.  This can be attributed to basic corporate philosophy and also to the strong security practices we have maintained from the outset.

Long recognizing the need for a level of comfort between our customers and ourselves, we have been on the cutting edge of workplace security practices, utilizing such innovations as personality profile testing and full criminal and civil background checks.

These and other practices allow us to be comfortable entrusting our personnel with access to our customer's properties, which consequently allows our customers to breathe a bit easier at night, knowing that we have a firm handle on "who's minding the store."

Background investigations

We use Sierra Intelligence Services™ to verify the backgrounds of all applicants; data include local Superior Court records (both civil and criminal) and credit history (looking for Social Security Number violations and aliases - to guard against actions filed under another name; address history).

We make every effort to verify out-of-state and out-of-county records on recent county residents, and on anyone whose address history, as reported by the applicant and by the credit reporting agency, do not coincide.

Credit history can also provide some indication of stability and dependability, when taken in conjunction with other areas of the screening process.

Motor Vehicle Department records

We check motor vehicle records to verify that a driver's license is current and valid. The report also shows any outstanding traffic warrants, DUIs, excessive or frequent traffic violations, and any pattern to the type of violations.

Professional references interviews

We require that all applicants supply professional references, whom we interview. The interviews cover these and other specifics:

• Reliability

• Trust & integrity

• Knowledge & competence

• Initiative

• Strongest attributes

• Strong/weak points

• Recommend for hire?

Integrity testing

Our written personality profile test, administered by Insight WorldWide™, tests for dependability, general work ethic, integrity, drug and alcohol issues, workers compensation fraud and theft.

The test provides indications of problem areas, and suggests follow-up interview questions.  Applicants are quizzed on any anomalies that crop up.

We've found Insight's program to be the most comprehensive and accurate of its kind.

Security Log

We maintain a permanent security log, searchable by crew, client, date, etc., of any security-related issues to better detect patterns and head off problems before they become major.  We fully investigate any security questions, and fully share results with the affected client.

Photo ID

All personnel carry CBN-issued photo IDs; we will e-mail you crew photos & descriptions should an identification question arise.

Any keys which you issue us that are not already on security blanks are copied onto hard-to-duplicate "neuter bow" blanks containing no manufacturer name or code number to telegraph the brand and type of keyway.

Neuter bow keys feature a plain rectangular "high security" bow (handle) and are prominently machine-stamped "Do Not Duplicate".

We do not affix any identifying information (such as your firm name, address, or alarm code) to the key or key ring.

Liability Insurance

Allied Insurance covers us to limits of $3,000,000 per occurrence and aggregate, including broad form, premises operations, completed operations, owner's and contractor's protective, non-owned auto and personal injury coverage.

Allied also covers our corporate vehicles and office.

Workers Compensation

Statutory coverage provided by The Travelers through our employee leasing firm, Diversified Human Resources, Inc.™

Fidelity Bonding

$25,000 in coverage provided by Western Surety Company™, covering fraudulent or dishonest acts by our employees.
